Tina Burns– Chairperson of the Board and President of the Corporation
Tina Burns married her husband Trevor in 2006 and has two children. Her oldest graduated from Southern Humboldt Joint Unified School District, and her youngest will be in the first graduating class of Agnes J. Johnson Charter School. Tina is active in the community having volunteered in enrichment fundraising at this school and served as the Treasurer for the South Fork Booster Club for four years. As a full-time wife and mother, she enjoys traveling to dirt bike races and supporting an active lifestyle for everyone in her family. As a mother, she understands how important it is to cultivate children’s passions. She believes that AJJCS has the power to cultivate the passions in children by bringing agricultural preservation together with academic excellence!
courtney embry - Secretary of the Board and the Corporation
Courtney Embry is a proud mother of two AJJCS students and is committed to supporting the Charter School through her active involvement on the Board. Courtney earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ohio State University and her Associate of Science in Registered Nursing from the College of the Redwoods. Having moved to the area in 2010, Courtney and her active family have found a home. She is committed to making sure that all students have what they need to be successful!
SHANE PICKLE - Treasurer of the Board and the Corporation
Shane Pickle was born and raised in Southern Humboldt and even attended Agnes J. Johnson. He graduated from South Fork High School and works as a carpenter by trade. Shane is a proud father of two sons, one who promoted from AJJCS and one who still attends. Shane has always been an active parent, and he believes that all parents should take the opportunities to be involved in their children's education. He is proud to serve on the Board so that he can keep an eye on the education provided to our students, believing that we can all make a difference!
